OU Law Hosts Debate on Civil Asset Forfeiture Reform

This week, OU Law hosted a debate featuring four experts on civil asset forfeiture within the state of Oklahoma. The debate topic centered on the issue of reforming the state’s current laws on civil asset forfeiture.

Panelists included Oklahoma State Senator Kyle Loveless, First Assistant District Attorney Scott Rowland, Oklahoma City Police Major Bill Weaver and Legal Director of the ACLU of Oklahoma Brady Henderson.

UN Internship Shapes Student’s Perspective

In August 2015, I had the privilege of serving as a student intern for the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in Geneva, Switzerland. I am currently a 3L law student at the University of Oklahoma and completed the internship between my 2L and 3L years. I became aware of this opportunity through OU Professors Alvaro Baca and Lindsay Robertson. They connected me with Mr. Francisco Cali Tzay, the Chairperson of the CERD.
