Spring Break Takes Students to Uganda

Last week, Professor Michael Scaperlanda and five OU Law students -- John Clifton, Kathryn Caudill, Sara Hansard, Ryan Hunnicutt, and Katie Magee -- traveled to Uganda as part of the course called Comparative Common Law Jurisprudence: Uganda. Together, they worked with various local groups in land dispute resoutions. As residents of northern Uganda returned to their homes after more than 20 years in refugee camps during war, land disputes arose over what property belonged to which groups and OU Law students had the opportunity to work alongside the residents to produce solutions.

OU Law BLSA Named Small Chapter of the Year

OU Law's Black Law Students Association (BLSA) Chapter won both the Regional and National Small Chapter of the Year Award for the 2015-2016 school year. To be eligible for the Small Chapter Award, a chapter must be less than 20 paid members.

In His Own Words: Cale Padgett's Internship with the University of Miami

Last summer I had the opportunity to intern with one of the nation’s premier athletic institutions, the University of Miami. Naturally, because I want to work in collegiate athletics and am choosing a much different path from most of those in law school, it was a bit of a process to find a summer internship. But thanks to help from the Office of Career Development, I was able to speak with some people that worked in the industry and solidify this was the path I wanted to take.
